Breaking: We have a minor trade in the NHL.
Keystone Press.

A minor trade has been reported, although it is not yet officially announced.

According to a report from Florida Panthers insider George Richards of the Miami Herald, the Panthers have sent 23 year old center Rocco Grimaldi to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for 29 year old goaltender Reto Berra.

Grimaldi was a source of frustration for the Panthers since being drafted 33rd overall in the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft, never quite cracking the Panthers main roster, and the trade to the Avalanche will provide him with a fresh start in a new organization.

For the Panthers, the acquisition of Reto Berra provides them with a stable back up, the journeyman goaltender put up a very respectable 0.922 save percentage in the 14 appearances he made for the Avalanche last season.

Neither of these moves will be game changers for either team, and all in all it's a relatively minor deal that will likely be overshadowed by the shocking report out of Montreal today detailing why P.K. Subban will be traded.
