The Chicago Blackhawks are making all the moves at the deadline, and other teams need to start taking notice because they are poised for another run at a Stanley Cup Championship.

The Montreal Canadiens have traded not one but two players to the Blackhawks, forwards Dale Weise who has been rumored in trade talks for several weeks, and Tomas Fleischmann. In exchange Montreal will receive Blackhawks forward Phillip Danault as well as a 2nd round draft in 2018.

Habs general manager Marc Bergevin released the following official statement:

"Phillip Danault is a young and gifted player who will be part of our core group of young forwards for many years to come. I am very pleased to have him join our organization. As a member of the Blackhawks management group, I was instrumental in the selection of Phillip in the first round of the 2011 NHL Draft. Dale Weise and Tomas Fleischmann have both been good contributors to our team and I would like to wish them the best of luck with the Blackhawks' organization," said Marc Bergevin.

TSN insider Bob McKenzie has revealed that the Habs will retain 30% of Dale Weise salary in this trade.
