We have a trade in the National Hockey League!
According to a report from Brennan Klak the New York Rangers have traded defenseman Dylan McIlrath to the Florida Panthers for defenseman Steven Kampfer and a conditional 7th round pick.
It was no secret that the Rangers were looking to trade their former first round pick in McIllrath and it appears they finally found a willing partner. Unfortunately for a player with such a high pedigree they were only able to net a former fourth rounder in Kampfer, a player who had reportedly asked to be traded, and a conditional 7th rounder.
According to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston, if McIllrath plays 30 games or more the Rangers will get the 7th round pick, if not they will be left with only Kampfer as their return on this deal.
