Breaking: We know exactly what the Avalanche wanted for Duchene!
Keystone Press Agency

We have known for months that the demands of Colorado Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic were very high for his star forward Matt Duchene

As a matter of fact, we reported a few months ago that he turned down a deal with the New York Islanders, who offered talented defenseman Travis Hamonic, a top forward prospect and a first-round pick.

Now according to TSN's Darren Dreger, it looks like even though many weeks went by, the price hasn't gone down for the 26-year-old center. Here are the two options Colorado had:

Wow. Four high picks and a prospect, or two prospects, a first-round and a third-round pick. That is extremely expensive.

Pierre LeBrun also added that even though the deal was serious, Nashville never went as far as having contract talks with Kyle Turris:

Considering the steep price for Duchene, do you think this deal would have been a good idea for Ottawa and Nashville? Would you have done it?
