According to a report from Frank Seravalli of TSN, the Philadelphia Flyers have placed veteran forward Dale Weise on waivers.

Weise, a 30 year old winger, has played 42 games with the Flyers this season, putting up five goals and 11 points. He has two seasons left on a contract that pays his $2.235 million annually per season. Because of this, it's hard to see anyone making a claim for him... but stranger things have happened in this league.

In other waiver wire news, the Edmonton Oilers have claimed forward Colby Cave from the Boston Bruins.

The 24 year old center has played 20 games with the Bruins this season, putting up one goal and five points. He also has six goals and 8 points in 15 games with the team's AHL affiliate Providence Bruins this season. The undrafted free agent is a native of Battleford, Saskatchewan and played four seasons of junior hockey in the WHL with the Swift Current Broncos.
