Breaking: Wild assign former first round pick to the AHL

The Minnesota Wild have assigned forward Joel Eriksson Ek to the Iowa Wild (AHL), the team announced on Tuesday. The 20-year old forward has produced three points in 20 games played so far this season.
Eriksson Ek was drafted 20th overall by the Wild in 2015. In 35 games played in the NHL so far, he has registered ten points.
The Wild will play their next game Wednesday night against the Buffalo Sabres.
