Breaking: Wild coach announces shocking resignation!

We have to admit we did not see this one coming at all.

In an absolutely shocking report Minnesota Wild insider Mike Russo has revealed that National Hockey League legend Scott Stevens will be stepping down as the Minnesota Wild's top coaching assistant just one year after taking on the role.

Stevens was by all accounts the right-hand man of head coach Bruce Boudreau and it's entirely unclear why he has decided to vacate the position after such a short time spent behind the Wild bench. Russo has reported that a desire to spend more time with his family is a motivating factor for Stevens.

Stevens is said to want to spend more time with his family. The team has not yet starting looking for a replacement.

While there have been to rumors to suggest this, one has to wonder if Stevens has his sights on a bigger role in a different NHL organization.
