The Minnesota Wild have a bit of a contract dispute on their hands.

A report from Wild insider Mike Russo of the Star-Tribune is now claiming that 25-year-old Wild center Mikael Granlund has filled for arbitration, a decision he had to make prior to 5 pm EST today.

It's unclear at this time why negotiations between Granlund's camp and general manager Chuck Fletcher failed to produce a contract, but should they fail to do so in the coming days an arbitrator will determine how much Granlund should earn.

The former 2010 1st round draft pick is a core feature of the Wild offense, and last season he accounted for 26 goals and 43 assists for 69 points in 81 regular season games.

More to come on this story as it develops.
