Breaking: Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau confirms the big rumor surrounding his team.

There have been rumors that the Minnesota Wild's top prospect will be joining the team, but considering those same rumors have been floating around since January, it was difficult to gauge how close it was to becoming a reality.

Now however we have a breaking news report from Wild insider Mike Russo of the Star Tribune, and he has received confirmation from an extremely credible source. According to Russo none other than head coach Bruce Boudreau has confirmed that Joel Eriksson-Ek is in fact headed to North America.

Eriksson-Ek was the Minnesota's Wild's first round pick in 2015 but he has been developing in Sweden with Farjestads BK Karlstad. That stage of his career may very well be over, and while Boudreau would not confirm if he was headed straight for the National Hockey League or if he would be sent to Iowa in the American Hockey League, the fact that he is coming is no longer in doubt.

Needless to say this is terrific news for the organization, and could very well be a major factor in their playoff push this season should they choose to immediately utilize Eriksson-Ek.
