For the first time in seven years the Minnesota Wild will NOT be in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The team’s first season under new general manager Paul Fenton has been an abject failure, no doubt about it. Because of this many fans and analysts have speculated that head coach Bruce Boudreau will pay the price with his job. 

Boudreau has been a masterful coach during the regular season throughout his career, but he’s had an incredibly difficult time earning wins in the postseason. With the Wild on the outside of the playoffs looking in, will Boudreau finally walk the plank in Minny? Well… not so fast, says Fenton.

So… this isn’t a coaching decision? This is a decision from ownership that they simply don’t want to pay Boudreau? Surely another team would be happy to take on his contract?
