Breaking: Wild officially announce rumored move, but with one major difference.

The Minnesota Wild were rumored to be working on this move, and while they have finally made it a reality, there is one major twist.

According to an official announcement from the Wild orhanization, the team has signed former first round draft pick Luke Kunin to a three-year entry-level contract. Despite rumors to the contrary however, Kunin will not be joining the Wild for the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs.

From the official statement:

Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has agreed to terms with forward Luke Kunin on a three-year, entry-level contract starting with the 2017-18 season. He will report to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) on an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO) for the remainder of this season.

The Wild must feel that they can field a better team without Kunin, that or they really, really, didn't want to burn a year off his entry-level deal.
