Huge injury for the Wild.

A young National Hockey League draft pick has just suffered a major injury.

While we already knew that 18-year-old ceterman Mason Shaw had suffered an injury, we had no idea it would be this serious. Minnesota Wild insider Mike Russo of The Athletic is now reporting that Shaw is believed to have suffered a torn ACL.

Russo's source for this information was none other than general manager Chuck Fletcher, so there's little doubt as to it's accuracy. As a result Shaw is expected to now need reconstructive knee surgery, a process that would keep him out anywhere from four to six months in recovery.

Needless to say an injury of this magnitude is always bad, but you have to feel especially bad when it happens to a young kid who was just drafted into the league.
