Breaking: Wild sign free agent who wasn’t recruited by a single college team!

Quite the story for young defenseman Brennan Menell. 

After he was cut from the varsity team at St. Thomas Academy his sophomore year, he wasn’t even recruited by a single college team. But things started looking up when he attende development camp in July with the Minnesota Wild.

He was invited back to play for the Wild at the recent prospect tournament in Traverse City and then too the Wild’s training camp. He has not only survived several rounds of cuts but he managed to land an entry-level contract on Tuesday. 

The native of Woodbury posted an assist in one game with Minnesota during the 2017-18 preseason against the Colorado Avalanche.
