The Minnesota Wild have reportedly convinced a former National Hockey League forward to come out of retirement, or at least what many presumed was his retirement.

According to an official announcement from the Wild on social media, former Pittsburgh Penguin, Tampa Bay Lightning, and New York Rangers' forward Ryan Malone has agreed to a professional tryout offer with the Wild.

This means that Malone will be joining the Wild at training camp, presumably in the hopes of making the team and getting a new NHL contract at the end of his tryout.

As is always the case with professional tryout offers it is important to note that the team reserves the right to cut the player at any time, so this is no guarantee that Malone will indeed make his NHL return this season.
