Zuma Press

The Minnesota Wild and Carolina Hurricanes have hooked up on a one for one trade with forward Nino Niederreiter heading to the Hurricanes in exchange for forward Victor Rask.

By swapping Niederreiter for Rask, Wild general manager Paul Fenton saved his team $1.2 million in salary.

In effect, it looks like the Wild and Hurricanes have elected to trade one underperforming forward for another and give each a change of scenery.
