Breaking: Wings place young forward Frk on waivers!

The Detroit Red Wings placed forward Martin Frk on waivers on Wednesday, as it was first reported by NHL insider Pierre LeBrun. 

The 25-year-old has just tallied one goal and five points in 25 games with the Red Wings this season. He last suited up for the team back on Feb 2 and was in the lineup for just two contests since the start of the new year.  

Frk, who carries a $1.05 million cap hit for the remainder of this season, is set to become a free agent on July 1st. 

Frk scored 11 goals and posted 25 points in 68 games last season, his first with the Red Wings.

In other waivers news on Wednesday, Montreal Canadiens forward Michael Chaput was not claimed off waivers and will now be assigned by the team to the AHL's Rocket in Laval. 

The 26-year-old has five assists in 32 games with the Canadiens this season while posting a minus-4 rating.
