The New York Islanders have announced they agreed to terms with young defenseman Adam Pelech to a four-year contract extension. We have yet to know the financial details of the deal.

The 22-year-old amassed three goals and seven assists for 10 points in 44 games with the Isles last season. He also dressed up for 13 AHL games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, in which he recorded five points. He was selected 65th overall, in the third round of the 2012 NHL draft.
