We have a huge contract signing to announce.

While there was never any doubt that the Minnesota Wild and 26-year-old forward Marcus Foligno would eventually work out a new deal, it was getting awfully close to training camp with no contract.

Now however according to Minnesota Wild insider Mike Russo of The Athletic, the Wild and Foligno have agreed to a four year contract that will pay Foligno $11.5 million over the duration of that contract.

That works out to an average annual value of $2.875 million per season, and this means that the Wild will now have less than a million dollars of cap space depending on who makes the team according to Russo.

Foligno, who was acquired this summer by general manager Chuck Fletcher, put up 13 goals and 10 assists for a total of 23 points over 80 games with the Sabres last season.
