The Anaheim Ducks have officially announced a signing on Wednesday night.

The Ducks and 25-year-old defenseman Josh Manson agreed to a new four-year contract and although the Ducks did not initially disclose the terms of that contract, we now have more details.

A report from Ducks insider Eric Stpehens of the Orange County Register has revealed that the deal will carry an average annual value of $4,1 million per season, indicating that the deal is worth a total of $16.4 million.

While Manson isn't what you would consider an offensive defenseman, having recorded just 5 goals and 12 assists for a total of 17 points in 82 games last season, he is a reliable defensive defenseman and he also brings a strong physical presence to the game.

The deal is contract extension, and it will take effect starting next season, something that Manson is likely looking forward to.
