The rivalry between the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils has given hockey fans some great tilts throughout the years. Unfortunately for hockey fans in the New York Metropolitan area, neither the Rangers nor the Devils will factor into the playoffs this season, but that doesn’t mean that the teams will just roll over… these are hated rivals, after all.

That was on full display this evening when Rangers forward Brendan Lemieux, son of Devils legend Claude Lemieux, absolutely DUMMIED Devils forward Miles Wood before taunting the entire Devils bench.

Lemieux tees off on Woods with several strong right hands, cutting Woods wide open and sending him sprawling to the ice. Once the linesman step in to prevent any further damage, you can see Lemieux turn to the Devils bench and throw his arms up in a “Come at me!” motion.

Check it out:

Woods gets absolutely wrecked, but to be fair he started the scrap down on one knee. He’s not the type of guy to forget… Lemieux would be smart to watch his back for the next while.

Old time hockey, baby.
