Bruce Boudreau cancelled this morning's practice, wants big effort tonight.

Bruce Boudreau is giving his team the morning off, but is expecting nothing but the best from them against the Carolina Hurricanes tonight.

Having lost two games in a row heading into Thursday’s tilt, Boudreau believes fatigue is rearing it’s ugly head in the stretch run to the post-season.

The head coach has struggled to get consistent play out of his team over the last few games, having only won one contest of their last five.

There is some uncertainty who Boudreau will start in net, but either Devan Dubnyk or Darcy Kuemper will be dueling Carolina’s Eddie Lack.

Despite Minnesota’s position atop the NHL standings, with 43 wins and 92 points in 68 games, the team hasn’t been looking like its dominant self over the last couple of weeks. Carolina will be looking to play spoiler, hoping extend the Wild’s losing streak to three games.

With Minnesota eyeing a deep playoff run, the team needs to respond to Boudreau’s decision to let them rest with a win in Carolina. The sooner they end their slumping results, the better.

Bruce Boudreau is looking for a full-team effort, the lack of which he has placed as the cause of the Wild’s current losing streak. Hopefully his faith will be rewarded, and the Wild will get back to the level of play that catapulted them near the top of the standings earlier this season.
