Bruins broadcaster Jack Edwards botches Bergeron’s game-tying goal call

Boston Bruins play by play man Jack Edwards is certainly making headlines this week.

In case you missed it, Edwards went off on Carolina Hurricanes… er Hartford Whalers… defenseman  Dougie Hamilton earlier this week for wearing #19, a number retired by the Whaler organization in honor of Johnny "Pie" McKenzie.

Edwards absolutely went OFF on the former Bruins blueliner for wearing #19, a number retired by the Whalers but not by the Hurricanes

Check it out:

"Pie Face, or Pie was one of the greatest guys you'd ever want to meet...Hamilton was traded from Calgary to Carolina about two weeks after McKenzie died, last June and they gave him No.19....It shows the disconnect between the Carolina marketing department and hockey history."

But… if that weren’t enough for you… check out Edwards’ OVER THE TOP goal call on the Jake DeBrusk’s game winner:

“The Bruins come from two down, fend off Carolina, and strip the whale of its blubber. Burn em!”

That’s… that’s a little aggro, Jack. Chill, bro.

Well… Jack’s back in the headlines again tonight and… surprise, surprise… it’s because of another passionate goal call.

Check out Edwards with a little premature credit to Patrice Bergeron on the game-tying goal from tonight’s game against the Florida Panthers:

“Sometimes I see with my heart,” he says. We now Jack, we know. Love him or hate him, there's no denying Edwards' passion for Bruins hockey.

As luck would have it though, Edwards' prediction came true as Bergeron puts home the game winner with just 7 seconds left in the game.
