The Boston Bruins ma be dealing with yet another significant injury on their roster.

On Sunday the Bruins organization announced that rookie defenseman Jeremy Lauzon would called up on an emergency basis following the team's big win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night. The call up has raised some eyebrows regarding potential injuries on the Bruins roster and there has been some speculation out there regarding who Lauzon may be replacing in the Bruins line up.

There has been nothing official from the Bruins at this time but there have been some minor rumblings suggesting that Boston Bruins' defenseman Brandon Carlo may be dealing with an upper body injury that may keep him out of the Sunday night match up between the Bruins and the Las Vegas Golden Knights. If that is indeed the case it's very bad news for the Bruins who are already missing players like Charlie McAvoyUrho Vaakanainen, and Kevan Miller on the blue line and the loss of Carlo would leave them severely depleted on that front.

Luazon, a rookie, has appeared in 4 games for the Boston Bruins already this season. He made his National Hockey League debut on October 25th when the Bruins face off against the Philadelphia Flyers and through his first 4 NHL games he has picked up no goals and no assists over that stretch but also boasts a plus minus rating of 0 over those 4 games.Lauzon has also had significant playing time in the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins this season. Through 8 games in the American Hockey League this far he has 1 goal and 3 assists for a total of 4 points but has been more undisciplined with 10 penalty minutes and a plus minus rating of -2.

It's unclear at this time if Lauzon is going to get additional playing time at the NHL level but given the nature of this emergency call up as well as the potential injury to Brandon Carlo, it seems likely that he is going to get some additional NHL experience under his belt. The Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney will be very wary of Lauzon getting to 10 regular season games however, something that would burn a year on his Entry Level Contract.
