Bruins first round pick will remain low on depth chart according to Bruins GM.

It's now been five years since the Boston Bruins drafted goaltender Malcolm Subban in the first round of the 2012 draft and it's starting to sound like the current Bruins management have any intention of giving him special treatment despite their inconsistencies at the back up goaltending position.

Subban's teammate Zane McIntyre has taken the lead in net at the American Hockey League level, and to make matters worse for Subban he also has Anton Khudobin to compete with at the National Hockey League level.

Subban's two outings in the NHL were extremely disappointing to put it mildly, and current Bruins general manager Don Sweeney, who did not draft Subban, admitted that Subban was at the bottom of the depth chart now.

"Zane's taken it now and has a chance to run with it," said Sweeney as per the Boston Globe. "You've only got one net. I'm not going to just say, 'Well, we've committed a first-round pick, Malcolm, you're going back on, no matter what.'"

One has to wonder if it is now time to officially declare Malcolm Subban a bust for the Bruins.
