Bruins hope to start a new win streak tonight against Kings

The Boston Bruins are looking to put their recent five game winless streak further in the rearview mirror tonight as they host the L.A. Kings at TD Garden. The Bruins look as though they won’t stray any from the lineup that defeated the Florida Panthers 4-2 Saturday night. Tuukka Rask is expected to get the start, and Charlie Coyle will likely stay at wing. Anton Blidh and Karson Kuhlman reportedly skated at practice today but aren’t quite ready to get back in the lineup yet.

It’s a bit ironic that these two teams would be meeting tonight after reports that Boston might just be interested in adding former Kings’ player Ilya Kovalchuk to their roster for the remainder of the season. His contract with L.A. was officially terminated today and there are rumours he’s willing to sign with a contender at league minimum ($700,000). We're certain there are vastly differing opinions from Bruins’ fans on whether the team should take that risk but it’s hard to imagine Kovalchuk couldn’t make an impact on a team with depth on a much lower salary than he was making with the Kings.

Johnathan Quick is expected to get the start between the pipes for the Kings tonight. He was the first goalie off the ice at practice. According to the line rushes, L.A. will also stick with the lineup used in its last game, a 4-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings. Here’s how the lineups look for each team.
