It seems the Boston Bruins may have something to worry about when it comes to Patrice Bergeron after all.

The Bruins will face off against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final and initially there were questions regarding whether or not Bergeron would even be able to play in that contest. Of course we learned earlier today that Bergeron is indeed set to go for Game 3 this evening and additionally he participated in what was an optional morning skate for the Bruins players prior to Game 3 later this evening, a positive sign to be sure.

Amidst that good news however some of the more concerning details of Bergeron's appearance on the ice this morning appear to have been lost. That is they would have been lost if not for the keen eye of Boston Bruins insider Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports. It appears that Haggerty was keeping a very close eye indeed on the Bruins star forward during his time at the morning skate because Haggerty quickly picked up on what he feels is a cause for concern. Haggerty shared a video on Instagram that shows what he feels is the moment that Bergeron appeared to tweak what Haggerty has described as a "lower body" issue that was bothering him. You can see that sequence in the video below courtesy of Haggerty:

According to Haggerty, Bergeron was working on his shooting when that lower body "something" started to bother him and spun him around. Haggerty also reports that after the incident in his video took place Bergeron stopped striding to his shots. That in and of itself would be odd but Haggerty also added that from that moment forward Bergeron would only use his upper body when taking shots. It would appear to suggest that this lower body ailment, or whatever it may be, was indeed bothering him during practice and that could certainly impact his performance in Game 3.

Through the first 2 games of this series Bergeron has failed to record even a single point and it may be that this has been an ongoing issue. Haggerty even went so far as to speculate that this may have been nagging him for a considerable part of these playoffs.
