The Boston Bruins are having the day off on Wednesday after moving on to the second round of the playoffs following a 5-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 7 last night.

They need to rest since the first game of the second round series against the Columbus Blue Jackets kicks off tomorrow night.

One player will need more time off however. Bruins general manager Don Sweeney met with media members this morning and revealed that defenseman Kevan Miller suffered a setback in his recovery from a lower-body injury and is now considered week to week.

It is believed that he won’t be ready to return for the second round against Columbus.

Last week after team practice, Miller was seen sporting a heavy leg brace and a bandage on his right knee. He was wearing the brace last night as well when he met up with his teammates in the dressing room following the win over Toronto. He was said to be limping through the room.

This is the second straight year that the Bruins have lost a key defenseman during the postseason. Unfortunately this time with Miller, it will be much longer than first anticipated.
