After an 8-1 blowout win over the Montreal Canadiens, it seems like there isn’t a better way to celebrate than to re-sign some key players! That’s reportedly what the Boston Bruins are looking to achieve on Wednesday.

According to Ryan Whitney of Spittin Chiclets, the Bruins are rumoured to be very close to signing both Charlie Coyle and Chris Wagner to contract extensions. From what Whitney has heard, Coyle could be on the verge of inking a six-year deal, while Wagner is close to a three-year pact.

This would be a great move by the Bruins general manager Don Sweeney. During last night’s game, Coyle put up three points and brought his shooting percentage to 15.0 percent. It was a slow start to the season for CC, but he seems to be back on track. He has five goals and 14 points in 24 games this season.

Wagner has been given more ice time since the start of the season and has managed to collect five points in 23 games.

If contract extensions are confirmed, both players could be motivated to do more this season!
