Bruins reveal more about Marchand’s injury suffered in scrimmage yesterday

The entire city of Boston stopped breathing last night when Bruins star forward Brad Marchand was seen in pain at the team’s bench during last night’s scrimmage, which took place in front of a packed TD Garden.

We all started to worry when it was quickly pointed out that Marchand was spotted on the bench in visible pain, grabbing his left hand, after he bumped into teammate Connor Clifton.

It felt like crisis was averted when he was back onto the ice, not missing a shift and collecting an assist on David Pastrnak’s tally.

However, after the game, head coach Bruce Cassidy needed to answer the many questions about his star player’s status moving forward…

“(Marchand) jammed his … I don’t know what he jammed,” Cassidy said afterward, per ESPN. “He kept playing … No issue.”

Cassidy added that injury risk remains on his mind as the team continues to practice ahead of Monday’s Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final against the St. Louis Blues.

"Injury risk was our biggest concern tonight. It will be Saturday when we practice at the regular time, and Sunday," Cassidy said. "He's fine."

Let’s hope the Bruins can avoid any mishaps ahead of the final.
