Brutal misplay from Carter Hart gets him yanked from the game.

One of the worst plays you'll ever see from a goaltender.

I think a lot of fans in Philadelphia are going to have a very hard time shaking off this performance from Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Carter Hart on Sunday night.

On Sunday the Flyers faced off against what is an admittedly strong Tampa Bay Lightning lineup and things turned ugly very quickly for the Flyers. Roughly midway through the first period the Lightning would strike twice in quick succession, scoring 2 goals just 1 minute apart from one another to take a commanding lead early on in the game.

Unfortunately things would only continue to go downhill for the Flyers after the opening frame, with the Lightning scoring 3 more times in the game's 2nd frame. To his credit Flyers head coach Alain Vigneault opted to leave veteran goaltender Carter Hart in between the pipes even after he had allowed a 4th goal in roughly 30 minutes of play, but that changed quickly once the Lightning scored their 5th goal of the game.

The Flyers were on the power play and the Lightning had managed to clear the zone when Hart decided to make a play on the puck well out of his net. Lightning forward Mathieu Joseph was racing down the ice for the puck but Hart got there first and attempted to clear it out of the zone, only to turn the puck over right to the aforementioned Joseph. Since Hart had come so far out of his net in the first place to make a play on the puck, that left the Flyers net wide open for Joseph.

It gets even worse. Joseph's shot looked like it was going wide of the net, that is until Hart decided to get in front of the puck, only managing to deflect it into his own net in the process.

What made this even more embarrassing was the look on Joseph's face as he stared up at the big screen in disbelief, obviously trying to see the replay of what had just transpired. The smile that was on his face really says it all, and so did the scowl on the face of Flyers head coach Alain Vigneault.

Not a fan in the world would have blamed Vigneault for pulling Hart after 5 goals including that horrible misplay with the puck, and that's exactly what the Flyers head coach did.
