Buffalo Sabres release an official statement following reports that Okposo is in “intensive care.”

Earlier tonight we brought you the news that Buffalo Sabres forward Kyle Okposo has been hospitalized and was in intensive care, now the Buffalo Sabres themselves have confirmed that report.

On Wednesday night the Sabres released an official, albeit brief, statement concerning the health of one of their top forwards. Here is that statement in full:

"Kyle continues to be under the care of our doctors as he deals with symptoms from an ilness. Out of respect to Kyle and his family, we will have no further comment at this time."

Unfortunately it doesn't shed much light on what is ailing the young man, but it does bring into focus just how serious a situation this is at this time. Once again our thoughts are with Kyle and his loved ones at this time, and we are hoping to see him make a full and speedy recovery.
