Canada forced to alter lines after Foote gets tossed for big hit

Less than one minute into this morning’s quarterfinal game between Canada and Slovakia and Canadian forward Nolan Foote has been tossed from the game.

Just 53 seconds in, Foote came flying down the right wing in the Slovakian zone and absolutely obliterated Slovak forward Kristian Kovacik.

I mean… it’s a big hit… but is it worth a game ejection? Wake up, refs…

Yep... blown call by the refs. No way to defend this. Time to start making these guys accountable.

Thankfully Canada was able to kill the five minute major and even cashed in on a goal from captain Barrett Hayton shortly after. No harm done.

Because of Foote’s game ejection, Canadian head coach Dale Hunter has been forced to juggle his lines a bit.
