Was that a huge mistake?

Canadiens reportedly passed on Vadim Shipachyov!

Four games into the season, first thing that comes to mind in Montreal is the blatant lack of offensive finish within the Habs organization.

With only 4 goals scored, something's got to change and forwards need to start putting the puck in the net in order to give their team a chance to win some games.

Even though that seems like an evidence to many fans, GM Marc Bergevin did not seem to mind that lack of offensive depth this summer as he could have signed KHL superstar Vadim Shipachyov to a free agent contract. And according to former pro scout Grant McCagg, Bergevin did inquire about him but would've decided to pass on him because he didn't think he was better than who they have, citing some holes in his game.

Shipachyov went on to sign in Vegas with the Golden Knights and is now stuck in the minors because of bad management, waiting for his GM to trade an NHLer to make room for him in the lineup.

With a 1-3-0 record and a -9 goals differential in only 4 games, do you think Bergevin should've take a chance on the russian centerman? [pub]
