Justin Williams and his family broke down in tears last night once he reached the Carolina Hurricanes dressing room following the elimination at the hands of the Boston Bruins in the Eastern Conference finals.

Reporters waited for Williams to talk to his kids and get ready to answer some tough questions and one noted on Friday that it could be the end of a career for Mister Game 7.

Tom Gulitti of NHL.com pointed out something very interesting following his time in the Canes’ dressing room last night. Williams answered questions and was very emotional, however, many people noticed that he kept his full equipment on for a very long time after the contest.

Gulitti explained that while he has no clue what Williams’ plans are for the summer and for his future, the last person he saw in his full equipment for that  long after his season ended (other than winning the Cup) was Wayne Gretzky after his final NHL game.

Williams is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and at age 37, could consider retirement. His plans will get a bit clearer in the coming days, however, it did feel like the end of something last night for the Canes’ captain.
