The Carolina Hurricanes - or the Bunch of Jerks as they like to be called - were celebrating the 6-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings last night, when something went wrong. According to team insider Chip Alexander of The News and Observer, defenseman Calvin de Haan suffered a “weight-room mishap” during a postgame workout and needed assistance.

The Athletic’s Sara Civ added that it appeared de Haan was “leaning on trainers” following the incident.

Injuries are piling up for the Hurricanes as defenseman Justin Faulk and forward Micheal Ferland both left the game early with upper-body injuries and did not return. No updates were available for either player following the game.

“This was a tough night for that,” head coach Rod Brind’Amour said following the contest, per Alexander. “I’ve got to assess the damage. These are the games where you hate to see that stuff kind of happen. Obviously we need everyone healthy here. Everybody is so important to our group.
“This was a good effort and a good win. We’ll see tomorrow and assess everything and move forward.”

de Haan did not manage to register a point in last night's win, however he did record  20:37 minutes of ice time and was plus-1.

The Hurricanes currently sit third in the Metropolitan Division with 74 points (34-23-6) having won three straight games. They will be back in action Friday at home against the St. Louis Blues as they keep fighting for a spot in the postseason.
