The Vancouver Canucks assigned veteran forward Jayson Megna to the Utica Comets (AHL), the team announced on Sunday. 

Megna, 27, was signed as a free agent by the Canucks in 2016. He played 58 games with Vancouver last season, registering eight points, but he was demoted to the AHL after training camp this year. In four games played in the AHL, he scored one goal. He played one game with the Canucks earlier this season without registering a point.

In 113 games played in the NHL with the Canucks, the New York Rangers and the Pittsburgh Penguins, he registered 20 points. He played in two playoff games, without registering a point. 

In 220 AHL games, he registered 114 points.
