Canucks’ Bachman makes the pass of the season… to the other team!

The Vancouver Canucks have been under siege this season and have a league high seven players currently on the injured reserve. Two of those players, Anders Nilsson and Thatcher Demko, are the team’s number two and number three goalies, respectively. And while number one netminder Jacob Markstrom has been stellar this season, he’s made 10 consecutive starts and has dropped his past three games. Enter: Fourth string backup Richard Bachman.

The journeyman AHL goaltender made his 2018-19 NHL season debut tonight to take on the Minnesota Wild and… well let’s just say that things didn’t go as planned in the first period. While already trailing 1-0 in the game, Bachman stopped a routine dump in behind the net and while trying to play the puck up to one of his teammates, Bachman put a picture perfect pass right on the tape of Wild captain Mikko Koivu. Koivu made no mistake in burying the puck while all Bachman could do was watch…




That’s… unfortunate. 

You gotta feel for Richard Bachman.
