Canucks call up Goldobin, send Baertschi to AHL

This just in, the Vancouver Canucks have recalled forward Nikolay Goldobin from the AHL’s Utica Comets. In a corresponding move, the team has assigned Sven Baertschi to the Comets, as well.

The 24 year old Goldobin has started the 2019-20 season on a tear, leading the Comets with eight goals and 20 points in 18 games. 

As for Baertschi, well… the 27 year old simply didn’t make much of an impact during his six game call-up with the Canucks. He registered just two assists in six games.

Vancouver, BC - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that forward Nikolay Goldobin has been recalled from the Utica Comets and Sven Baertschi reassigned.

Goldobin, 24, leads all Comets with 20 points (8-12-20) and four penalty minutes through 18 games. He has recorded a three-point game three times this season including Utica's most recent game at Laval on November 23, when the winger scored a hat trick. In 124 career NHL games Goldobin has notched 46 points (19-27-46) and 24 penalty minutes.
