According to a report from Swedish sports blog sportbloggare.com, Vancouver Canucks prospect Jonathan Dahlen has bought his hometown team Timra of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).

Check out this translated report courtesy of sportbloggare.com:

Timrå's sales are, as we know, completed and brought in SEK 2.5 million to the club. Forward Jonathan Dahlén - who participated in Timra’s SHL promotion last season - has bought the SHL club.

The 21-year-old forward about the occasion, “I want to support in every way I can. I'm still waiting for the scarf to get. Clearly one wanted to be involved and contribute. I want to help and help as much as I can when I can't play and play. I thought it was a good way to show appreciation for the association,” says Jonathan Dahlén.

The 21 year old has 12 goals and 23 points in 44 games for the Utica Comets this season.

UPDATE:

It appears as though we’ve had a translation issue. While Dahlen has in fact purchased shares in Timra, he’s not the sole or even majority owner. So, to say that Dahlen has purchased the team is a bit of a stretch, but he is now part of the team’s ownership group.
