The Vancouver Canucks are smack dab in the midst of the buyout window, but according to one insider they have yet to make a decision.

According to a report from Canucks insider Dan Murphy, he has been informed by Canucks general manager Jim Benning that the organization has yet to make any decision concerning the buyouts of presumably Alex Burrows and Chris Higgins.

Here's where things get strange, according to Murphy Benning stated that the will wait to see what happens in free agency before deciding what to do with Burrows, but free agency begins prior to the buyout window closing. Free agency beings July 1st, the buyout window closes on June 30th.

Perhaps Benning is referring to his discussions with potential candidates in the one week window prior to free agency opening in the NHL, but that would be cutting close for a buyout decision from the Canucks.
