Canucks to opt for more urgent strategy on trade market

Imminent trade coming up?

It seems like something else other than the recent injuries is pushing the Vancouver Canucks to make a trade for a top forward.

Many believed that the Canadian team was on the hunt for a top-nine forward because of the recent injuries to Bo Horvat and Sven Baertschi, who are both out for up to six weeks, but it appears that the hunt has been going on for months.

According to TVA Sports' Renaud Lavoie who spoke on Sportsnet, the Canucks have been looking to land a forward since the offseason.

We don't know how agressive they were on the market then, but we can imagine they will be more and more as the trade deadline approaches and now that two of their key players are sidelined with injuries.

However, the Canucks are not the only team seeking a top forward on the market; the Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins, San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks and St. Louis Blues are also shopping for one.
