Capitals season ticket holders get unbelievable gift from the team!

The Washington Capitals have gone above and beyond the call of duty for their fan base.

As many season ticket holders in the National Hockey League will know there are often quite a few special perks to being a season ticket holder for a team including special exclusive team events with the season ticket holders and more. In fact one of the things that season ticket holders across all major sports in North America have come to expect from their respective teams is a unique gift each and every year that is given out to season ticket holders, gifts that vary from the cheap to the spectacular depending on how well things went for your team or which team you happen to cheer for.

Well the Washington Capitals may have just raised the bar.

According to a report from Washington Capitals blog RMNB season ticket holders for the Capitals were shocked this month when they started to receive a rather unique gift from the team and it's owner Ted Leonsis. Leonsis has always been largely respected as an owner in the National Hockey League and especially so when it comes to the Washington Capitals fan base but like his gift he may have just raised the bar when it comes to the level of respect his fans have for him.

That's because when the Capitals season ticket holders opened their respective gifts this year they were shocked to discover that they had received a Stanley Cup ring that looks very much like the one the Capitals had made for their players after their triumph in the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Now although we have not received any details on the value or the nature of this ring I find it extremely hard to believe that even a man as wealthy as Leonsis actually had this many authentic Stanley Cup rings fashioned. Instead I assume that the rings given out a much cheaper replica versions of the actual rings themselves, but nonetheless they look really bad ass and I would feel terrific if I was a supporter of a team and I was given such a gift.

Here's a look at the ring itself thanks to Capitals fan Nikki Deacon.
