The Washington Capitals have announced a minor contract signing.
According toa report from the Washington Capitals official website, general manager Brian MacLellan has signed 28-year-old winger Wayne Simpson to a new one-year deal.
The contract is a two-way deal that will pay Simpson $650,000 at the National Hockey League level and $140,000 at the American Hockey League level, it's unclear how much the Capitals intend to use him this upcoming season.
Simpson is coming off a season with the Providence Bruins of the AHL, and he recorded 16 goals and 33 assists for 49 total points in 76 games with the Bruins last season.
