Brady Tkachuk may have made himself public enemy #1 in Montreal.

It seems fair to suggest that both the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators will be missing the playoffs this season but you would not have been able to tell that if you simply had tuned in to their match up on Saturday night. The two teams faced off in what turned out to be a heated affair and given their close geographical proximity to one another I would not be the least bit surprised to see this morph into a heated rivalry between the two teams.

Unsurprisingly at the center of it all was the aforementioned Brady Tkachuk a player that much like his brother Matthew Tkachuk, who currently plays for the Calgary Flames, has quickly shown an ability to get under the skin of his opposition. Brady Tkachuk's skills in that regard were on full display Saturday night when he even managed to get under the skin of a man that is usually considered a very cool customer, Montreal Canadiens star goaltender Carey Price.

The incident in question took place at roughly the midway point of the game with just over 8 minutes left to go in the second period, and surprisingly we actually saw Price himself being the aggressor in this situation. Tkachuk was merely gliding across the ice after the play had been blown dead by the whistle of the National Hockey League officials on the ice when Canadiens defenseman Ben Chiarot gave him a slash across the legs, prompting Tkachuk to turn around and get in his face. It was at that moment that Price stepped out of his crease and immediately join Chiarot in going after Tkachuk, a series of events that led to somewhat of a melee between the two teams in front of the Canadiens net.

Even more surprising though was the fact that Price seemingly was unwilling to let go of Tkachuk and actually had to be physically restrained by the NHL officials who stepped in between the two men before things could escalate, something tells me the conflict between these two is far from over. The French language broadcast captured the best angle of the incident and you can see it in the short clip provided below.
