When we face facts and reality, we quickly realize that Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara’s career will soon come to an end, and understandably, the giant defenseman wants to win a second Stanley Cup before his NHL run is over.

And we all know he almost missed the change to play in the rest of this final series after he suffered a broken jaw in the Bruins’ 4-2 loss in Game 4 on Monday.

Nothing will stop Chara from playing until the end, and of course, doing all he can to win another Cup.

If Chara can win and hoist the Stanley Cup with the rest of his beloved teammates on Wednesday night in Boston, the star blue liner will get an extra gift.

According to senior hockey writer Frank Seravalli of TSN, Chara will will earn a $250,000 bonus if the Bruins win the Stanley Cup on Wednesday night.

Chara is already set to make history in Game 7 as he will play in his 14th Game 7 to pass Patrick Roy and Scott Stevens for most in NHL history.

On top of that, Chara's empty-net goal at 17:41 of the third period in Game 6 made him the second-oldest player in NHL history to score in the Stanley Cup Final.

The way things have been going, it just seems like the Cup and this bonus are next for the Bruins’ captain.
