Charles Glenn comes out of retirement and blows the roof off the NHL All Star Game!

You know you're in for some surprises when it comes to an All Star Game in the National Hockey League, but in this particular instance I'm not sure that very many fans saw it coming.

On Saturday the NHL hosted its annual All Star Game and as is tradition prior to the game fans were treated to a rendition of the national anthem. This time around however they were in for a very special treat when none other than legendary Blues anthem singer Charles Glenn made an appearance, stepping out of retirement for this moment in time and putting on a master class for those in attendance as well as for the thousands watching on their televisions, phones, or tablets from around the world.

Based on the reaction of the crowd this was a major surprise to just about all of those in attendance and there was no question that the appearance of Glenn prompted what was up until that point the loudest cheer of the night. In fact the fans did such a terrific job of welcoming Glenn back to position he had occupied for so many years that he was forced to begin signing the anthem just to quiet the cheers from the fans who did not seem like they were about to stop on their own any time soon.

I am happy to say that Glenn delivered a terrific performance, demonstrating that he definitely has not lost his touch or his voice, and if this happens to be the last time we see him then it will be a memorable one for the long time fans in St. Louis.
