Cholowski out again as Wings are set to take on Panthers

Yesterday, the Red Wings spiralled right back into their losing habits as they were beaten by the Hurricanes 7-3. Tonight, in a second match in two nights, Detroit hopes to bounce back and win another game.

The lineup for this evening's matchup will be identical to the one that faced the Hurricanes on Friday with the exception that Jonathan Bernier will start ahead of Jimmy Howard tonight. Both goalies saw some action yesterday as Howard was pulled from the game in the second period after a terrible showing.

The fact that coach Blashill hasn't changed his lineup means that young defenseman Dennis Cholowski will be sidelined again tonight as a healthy scratch. Cholowski has struggled a bit defensively with a +/- differential of -7, but he has done things right offensively. He has a goal and 4 points in 11 games played so far. 

Defensemen Mike Green and Joe Hicketts will stay together on the 2nd defensive pair even though they were a defensive liability in yesterday's game.

On offense, Brendan Perlini will hope to get his first point as a Wing and his first point this season tonight as his name was kept off of the scoresheet yesterday in his first game with Detroit.

Forward Christoffer Ehn and d-men Alex Biega and Dennis Cholowski will be healthy scratches tonight. Danny DeKeyser and Luke Glendening are still recovering from injuries.

The Florida team will feature veteran Brian Boyle who signed a pro contract with the Panthers a few weeks ago.
