While the Detroit Red Wings weren't able to re-sign free agents David Perron and Shayne Gostisbehere, they have made the decision to retain a forward that they inked to a one-year contract last summer.
According to reports, checking forward Christian Fischer is returning to Detroit and has once again agreed to sign a one-year contract with an identical AAV of $1.125 million:
Fischer appeared in 79 games last season for Detroit, scoring five goals with 14 assists.
