Cizikis destroys Condra with a crushing hit into the boards.

The New York Islanders fourth line sent a big time message in Game 1 of their second round series against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Islanders center Casey Cizikas absolutely annihilated Tampa Bay Lightning forward  Erik Condra with a massive hit less than five minutes into the very first period. It was immediately clear that Condra was hurt on the play, and while his eyes remained open it looked like he was not all there.

The damage may not have been caused by the impact of the hit either, Cizikas launched Condra into the air, which resulted in Condra crashing down into the boards at a very awkward angle, with his head taking some of the impact.

This is one way to kick off a best of seven series.
