Controversial call!

The Montreal Canadiens suffered a tough 4-3 loss on Tuesday night, against one of the best teams in the NHL, the St. Louis Blues. During the game, the third line, composed of Tomas Plekanec, Charles Hudon and Brendan Gallagher, was under the spotlight... for the wrong reasons.

As The Athletic's Marc-Antoine Godin pointed out, those three players were on the ice for some of the Blues' best plays:

"This line was on the ice for Brayden Schenn's first goal. [...] The Canadiens' first two penalties? Plekanec and Gallagher. Then, in the second period, Gallagher let Scottie Upshall go freely in front of the net, and he scored just seconds after a beautiful pass from Dimitrij Jaskin. Even in powerplay, Hudon was patrolling the blue line when Jaden Schwartz had a tremendous scoring chance on a breakaway."

This is when head coach Claude Julien decided that enough was enough:

"Claude Julien decided to split this line temporarily, and benched Gallagher for more than eight minutes."

Benching your best scorer in the third period when you're hoping to tie the game... Let's just say that's a very bold call!

Do you think Julien made the right call?
